Idag släpper kanadensiska Saint James nya singeln “Ghost”, skriven och producerad Saint James själv tillsammans med Gustav Nyström samt Joakim och Björn Olovsson. Sedan debuten förra året har Saint James streamat nästan 10 miljoner på Spotify. Hans senaste singel Take Me Home remixades av tyska DJ:n Wankelmut och låg bl.a. topp 25 på tyska iTunes. Nu senast är han aktuell som låtskrivare på svenska Skotts senaste singel Glitter & Gloss.
Saint James om “Ghost”:
“I wrote the song about embracing the things that haunt you – you’re not afraid of them, you’re actually inviting them to cross over into your world. The lyrics are paralleled through a story about two people in love, separated by some kind of barrier like they’re from two different dimensions. The only way for them to reach each other or make their love a reality is to break through this barrier and get away together.
It comes from a slightly darker place than you might expect, I wanted to brighten it up with a more summery production. On the surface, it’s a song about two runaways in love. If you care to peel back a layer, it’s about your own inner ghosts.”
Saint James blev utvald till Spotifys Spotlight on 2016-lista, deras årliga lista över kommande års mest lovande artister. Hans tidigare singlar har varit på Spotifys topplistor i länder som Sverige, Finland, Österrike och Italien, likaså viral charts i Kanada, Brasilien och Mexiko. Inom kort kommer en video till låten, inspelad i Sydkorea.
